FAQs

Is the Junior Economic Club a non-profit?

The JEC is affiliated with the Junior Economic Club of Chicago, which is a 501 (c)(3) Non-profit organization

Does the Junior Economic Club have other branches?

Yes! JEC of Chicago came first, but there are JECs in New York City, Atlanta, Toronto, etc.

Is there a membership fee?

No, membership in the club is completely free to students, as the club seeks broad participation and we believe that financial literacy should be open and free to all.

Do you have to be enrolled in an economics course at your high school to become a member?

No, many of the JEC’s members are not enrolled in economics courses at their high school. While it is important for economics to be an interest of every applicant, coursework does not impact applications.
